Fruity Tea

I always enjoy drinking tea, especially during rainy days. When having a bad sore throat, a hot cup of tea would ease my pain. My favourite tea would be grape flavoured tea. Of course, flavoured tea are a bit of stretch to the ringgit.

The other day, my dad came up with this idea as we had lotsa fruits going bad. (Yeah, he bought a lot more than we eat! ) So, he infused fruits into cooking including tea too! We had papaya with 'masak lemak', it's actually good. Yum! I think you guys would know what to do next for a fruity tea yeah? Just cut up some fruits and let them sink into the bottom pot of tea. Simple as that!

Serai : Berry Pavlova, Baklava cheese & Tiramisu

My first experience with pavlova was by Delicious, recommended by my good friend. It was too sweet that I couldn’t bear it. Thank god, mr boyfriend was there to finish it. It left me with a bad impression of pavlova. But just yesterday, my best friend recommended me a pavlova by Serai at the Empire Subang. Immediately I refused the offer, going instead for the famous macaroons there. And I tagged along, joining the table. When the Berry Pavlova arrived, boy I was smitten by the appearance already! And I take a spoonful and two, and other uncountable spoonfuls. THAT Berry Pavlova has changed my impression entirely. It has the right level of sweetness, adequate cream and the right-sour berries. They blend well. Now, the Berry Pavlova by Serai at Empire Subang should be your first pavlova!

On a side note, we also ordered Baklava cheese cake (I hope it’s rightfully spelt) and Tiramisu cake. The Baklava cheese cake has got to be one of my favourite cheese cakes in town. Because truthfully I’m getting tired with Secret Recipe’s cheese cakes. They all tastes the same! How to describe this Baklava cheese cake? I can taste oats in ‘em and it’s good. Can’t describe more ‘cause I don’t even know what’s really in there. But it’s realllllyy good. Next up, we ordered the Tiramisu. The appearance can’t scare you more, as it gives the impression of an almond caramel cake. Now, this one bodes well with serious mature people. I can’t explain why.. it tastes boring but is really a good quality cake. It has the right amount of almonds and caramel coated outside, I tasted cheese also and the tiramisu in between. A good quality cake but it gave a boring feel.

Postgraduate (Masters) scholarship listings

There is another year to finish before I graduate, but I just want to prepare early and widen my chances for that scholarship. A year back, I was offered a place at University of Heriot-Watt for degree in Actuarial Sc. but I couldn't secure a scholarship. So, here I am still in Malaysia. Everyone said it was a good opportunity getting into Heriot -Watt but my parents believe that we, children should fund ourselves to study overseas.

Exam preparations

My below than CGPA 3.00 result for my last semester is a hard-slapped truth that I'm not coping well with my course right now. Should I blame it on our incompatibality or just plain dumb me? I confess that diving into Actuarial Science was decided purely by me. So, I am not giving up yet! I came across this article while surfing the web and find it quite useful. Maybe there are more in the future. Here are the links :

Personal financial tips help

I've been really pumped-up about my personal finance this week. Just read The Edge yesterday and today I'm surfing the web for more finacial help from finance-web-gurus. I have to admit The Edge is really a good read. True, it has little information to help my personal financial to grow as I am still starting small and still on a very basic level with questions like "How does FD work?" Stupid, I know. Considering I have graduated with a Diploma in Actuarial Sc, it's practically a shame. I am studying my degree on the same subject, fyi. If this is not a wake-up call on how shallow my general knowledge are, I dunno what is. So, I'm on a mission to read up more on finance. Investments intrigued me much, wonder if I can specialise in investments as an actuary? =D Have to go through the basic pro papers first. Anyway, here are links for good-reads on the global financial state & happenings or helpful articles to build your personal finance.

The right products for me!

Usually when I have the extra cash to buy myself the personal care products that looks promising. (The advertising does it!) I started trying a few product in these few years and have come up with the ones that works for me. =)

1. Garnier Light Facial Cream
-Works very well for lightening your skin. I don't recommend for lifetime continuous usage of product though. Wud like to try the body cream, wonder if it is as effective.

2. T3 Lemon / Orange Facial Wash
- Effectively keeps pimples away. I rarely had any pimples problems at all during the duration I’m using this.

3. Olay facial cream
-The most compatible brand for my skin.

4. Body shop perfume.
-Affordable and most of scents are intoxicatingly sweet & natural. Double like!

Products that are just not for me =(

1. Nivea facial cream
-Not comfortable with d smell n does little to protect my skin.

2. Palmolive shampoo
-It leaves my hair all coarse and dry and tangled.

3. Dove shampoo (old blue-range)
-Causes my hair loss. Eeek~
-Although they have a new & improved range, I’m still quite skeptical. O.o

4. Safi Balqis facial wash
-Leaves my skin tensed & Botox-like.

5. Loreal Facial cream
-I like the texture, smell n everything but not really effective. My skin doesn't improve much.
